427 is a big motor for a Mav or Comet.
You'd have to eliminate the shock towers to even fit it. Mustang II suspension up front would help. That sounds like a labor intensive build up, post LOTS of pictures!

(I want a Hemi in mine)

I think he means a stroker 427 from a 351 windsor. I think I would go with e tremec.:D Its a much stronger trans. Good luck

whats toast joe? t-5 is easy to beef, and as far as the stroker, i doubt weenie torque like that is gonna throw anybodies toast butter side down.sounds like a great combo, if ya got the room. just make sure the 8 inch , and frame are beefed, and drive the tires off it.

with street tires that will spin easy a T5 will hold up just fine. Put some slicks on it and dump the clutch a few times, powershift into 3rd and it'll live a short life.

427 and a T5 ? BOOM!! The C-4 will need to be beefed up too, and even then don't expect it to live long. Tremec or Toploader 4 speed if you want it to live.

Not with slicks, Not much room just wont cut the tire anymore.

One of my sons friends is heavy into fox body 'stangs. He blew a T-5 with a stock 5.0. When he put in the hot rod motor, he went with a Tremec. Blew it in about 3 weeks. Went with a built C 4. Car is still running strong. He is looking for a top loader right now, misses changing gears.....

We have broken several T5s with nothing more than drag radials, If they don't break then you ll lose 3rd gear, Guaranteed. A T5 can be built to take a lot of abuse, with the billet gear sets, But this is very expensive. If you go with the Tremec stay away from the 600, they have shifting problems if you try to put any power Thur them. BTW,I got a top loader that was rebuilt several years ago and never ran, Has a brand new Hurst shifter with install package for Ford, What you give?
