The engine is back in and running great. I now have 600 miles on it and it only has one issue. Light smoke at start up and a puff of smoke every once in a while at stop lights. I beleave I have found the problem, it seems the machinist that did the heads left the spring off the exhaust valve seals. The interior is coming along nicely I should have the door panels done next week. And maybe a radio soon I had a leak in the fuel tank which now has been fixed and I finally got to measure the tank 22 gallons. I am doing a milage check now I'm hoping for 15-18 combined city/freeway. I am still working aligment issues (tracking) and I may have hit a combination that works yesterday. The car seems to follow larger groves in the freeway. this may be atributes of wide tires 255 front 275 rear. I am super happy that I only have small problems to fix considering how much of the car I have modified.
I got the valve seals replaced and no smokey And for those who havn't seen it before here is a picture
I have been fighting the tracking problem with mine too. It likes to follow the grooves in the road like yours. I have not pin pointed the problem yet. I think its a combination of wide front tires, cut coil springs, old school upper/lower A arms. Ken
How did you fab the grill? Metal, fiberglass? I won't copy it, just wanted to know how it was done.Did you modify a front air dam or build it from scratch?
