i want to hook up a cigarette lighter/phone charger thing in my car but i dont know which fuses are what.. which fuse do i hook it up to?
someone posted a fuse diagram on here awhile back and i copied it to my pics but when i finally wanted to refer to it, it only copied the diagram for 74 and up or something.. i need the one for 1972..
I would tap off the current cigarette lighter fuse. Hot all the time. I cant get to my 72 to tell you what fuse it is. I always tap off the dead side of the fuse just in case. Then I still put an inline fuse in. Dan
Unless your worried on looks, I would run a seperate wire from Battery side of solenoid (protect with a in-line fuse) an hook up power plug
Cig lighter wire It is pretty common for stereo guys to use that wire for constant power so that clocks and presets stay on, so that may be another clue. Unless I am thinking of another car, I believe the end of the wire has a 90 degree rubber insulator on the end, and the fitting on it is made to slip onto a bolt that projects out of the lighter.
Cool. I had to reinstall my lighter when I got my 73(weird cause I don't smoke). It was simple and the power was a wire with a rubber L on the end.
i popped off the cap to access the hole for the cigarette lighter and there is a black wire back there but it is connected to something..
Here is the link that Scoop is talkin' about: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=352066#post352066 I appreciate all of this info. I don't smoke either but I would like to be able to charge my cell phone.
