carburator problem gas coming out vent???

    Ok I just rebuilt my carb and now it looks like a greek fountain spewing gas out the vent all over..what went wrong????
    Should I tear it down again or is there an adjustment I have screwed up??? Holly 600 4 barrel Vaccum secondary's

    sounds like the floats sticking, tap on the bowls may stop for now.

    It could be a bad needle/seat too.
    I had that happen with my Holley 600.

    You could just have the float too high.

    I've seen the float adjusted too low and cause the same problem by bypassing the needle all together. Either way pull out your needle and seat, inspect them closely for debris and then reinstall them and adjust. You'll get it! Good luck!

    I had a similar problem with gas coming out the bowl vents on a new carb. turn out to be dirt/rust particles hanging open the needle and seat. I installed two metal fuel filters,one after the fuel tank at the fuel gauge sending units rubber gas hose and the other before the Holley 4v.
