I think Ford Sierras had AWD too, but the only similar thing that arrived to the U.S. was the Merkur Xr4ti but it was RWD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sierra There's the Aerostar, I found this thread in a forum, nobody replied to the guy so I don't know if he ever came out with something. http://www.car-forums.com/s10/t1296.html AMC Eagles were AWD too. http://www.javelinamx.com/Eagleweb/ http://www.amceaglenest.com/ Go check these videos, you're gonna be amazed. http://www.youtube.com/results?sear..._category=0&search=Search&v=&uploaded=&page=2
Thanks for the good info. Eagle was one of my thoughts for a doner. The imports stuff would be trick if you could find them over here, they have much more to offer in the AWD cars. The Audi Quattro is what got me thinking in the first place. Maybe go with a FI turbo six? I wonder what the Fords of Brazil may have to offer?
what about jaguar stuff??? The X-type 3.0 is a RWD based car, and some of them (or all, I'm not sure) are AWD. You wouldn't have to go or order parts from Sweden to get that kind of stuff.
look at clerance problems One thing that should be noted unless you plan on changing the whole drive train that most of the all wheel drive cars based on a rear wheel drive setup, have the front axle centersection is cast into the oil pan. This reduces the required ride height of the car. Another option is if you want to use an old cadillac toronodo front wheel drive setup and modify it so you can have an rear output shaft also. Some of the configurations can be seen here http://www.aam.com/index.php?s=46 (Sorry I know it is corporate GM axles but they had good pictures, and yes they do build all of Dodge and Chryslers axles)
