FYI-There is a NMRA event in Columbus this weekend. We are leaving now with the Maverick and the Mustang. It should be a good event with nice weather and lots going on.
If that is at National Trails Raceway, the MCCI used to hold its Roundup at that event. Its a really nice track.
Yeah, it is at National Trail. Looks like a nice place so far, haven't been down the track yet. There are 5 Mavericks there so far this evening. Who's car is the Mad Maverick, a red car with the black/yellow stripe?
Very nice track,, and like Dennis said,, that is where IMCC used to have its national meet,, now MCCI. Dan
Here is a picture from National Trails from the 4th Annual Roundup Nationals....and that was 10 years ago this weekend. The first car belongs to Don Check. It only had 3000 actual miles on it. The second car was my 1970 Grabber. The third car is a Comet GT. I beleive it was recently on ebay.
Weather is great here, cars are running well, day has been strange. First round of eliminations, I got sent out of the staging lanes as I was about to pull in to the water box because I had a tank top on. I had to buy back to get in to second round and then I redlighted, but made a nice pass. I am officially the only girl at a NMRA event that was told to put more clothes on. Great for my self esteem....
Maybe the promoters didn't want all the other women getting bad self-esteems once they saw a real Maverick woman.
Race went well. There were 9 Mavericks in the race over the two days and 2 Comets in the car show(one owned by Joe, aka Columbis Comet, nice car!). I at least won a round on Sunday and my husband went 7 or 8 rounds and took runner up in Bracket 3 with my Mustang(paid for our entry fees!). Today we raced at our local track, I actually made it into the third round which I hate to admit so far is a personal best. There were three Mavericks at the track today.
4 rounds would have even been quarter finals. I did cut a .009 light in the second round so I felt pretty good about that. We got back from OH at 9am and were at our local track at 11am today, it was a good Labor Day weekend.
Hi, Sarah ,had a good time talking at the show. I didn't win class, but got top 20 trophy. Had a great time. Wish the MCCI meet could be held there next year. Great job driving.
we got rained out saturday night. so we went back again on sunday at 7 a.m. i got lucky and made it to the finals (5 rounds) where i lost in a double breakout, but that has moved me into second place this half with one race left. no chance for first though.
