what does it take to change the control arm bushings? the guy at brake max told me it'd probably be cheaper to buy completly new control arms but when i looked on checkers the bushings are only about 15 bucks so i dont see how it'd be cheaper to buy complete new arms.

Uppers or lowers??? Lowers aint so bad if you have a good hammer or a Press and some patients.Uppers you need to remove the coil spring to get them out(Can be a PITA) without the right tools.Either way it will mess up your alighnment if you havent done it before.Same if you just get new parts.Hope this gives you something to go on.Good luck.

Really? They usually won't align a car if it needs something replaced. At that point aligning it is a waste for them and you. Maybe it just isn't that bad yet.

It can be done but if your bushings are bad,new ones will change your alighnment due to the lack of slop in the new parts. the alighnment you just had done took the slop into account when being set up.

That sounds a bit dishonest. All reputable shops check for problems like that before doing the alignment and then give you the option to have it fixed first. I'm not saying they were out to get you, could just be they didn't notice, but be careful.

Well you could go back there and :rant2:Tell them what you want to do and see if they will give you a freebie after you replace parts. If you are tact ful about it you may get results.(Attract more flies with honey than vinnegar)If not, dont go back there.I am surprised they set it up with bad parts too.Sounds kinda:16suspect to me.Good luck.

That is ridiculous that they went ahead and aligned it anyways with bad bushings. I would have outright refused to pay for that, because they should have contacted you before proceeding when they found the worn bushings.

WOW, what an alignment shop.:16suspect I've visited a couple shops around here, and they always gave a month to return the car if I feel something isn't right. And they NEVER align a car with worn parts, unless they mention it to me, and let me repair the car and come back in a month or less.
