How does a Maverick (wit a 302) do against newer performace cars (camaro's, mustangs, Chargers, etc.)?
New car suspension beats old car suspension easily ... not eve a contest. And unless that 302 in the Maverick is making 300+ horsepower it won't be close. My 2006 V6 Mustang feels as fast or faster than my 302 Maverick ...
Dem '06 V-6s have 200 hp and runs 14 sumtins tho i do believe. what bout a 5.0 Foxbody('89-'93) stang?
Yeah .. my 4.0 is pretty quick ... I have K&N CAI, Dual Exhaust with H-pipe off a GT and an Custom ECM tune ... so it's about 240 at the crank and 200 at the rear wheels .. I would think the last of the fox body GT's are about the same ...
my friend has a 307 in his '69 chevy c/10 thats bone stock with 200 hp. my other friends 85 elco has a V6 with 130 hp..
I knoe yall prolly aint into this but, if i git this car ill prolly throw a 305 chevy in (Got tha motor for free). Ill prolly end up copyin a combo built in Camaro Performace Magazine, They ended up with 372 Hp with just heads, cam, intake, carb, and headers.
It'll only be temporary. Ima be lookin for a 351 Clevland or a 400 (small block i think) ford. Ima GM guy but i like to keep tha car brand and motor brand tha same. ford car ~ ford motor, Pontiac car ~ pontiac motor...etc.
Stock Maverick/Comet 302's sure do have low horse power numbers. But they must have good torque numbers, or the factory rear gear ratio, one of these 2 has something to do with it. Because it'll get off the line pretty dang good for stock.
