I'm confused with my brake situation. I just started fixing up my 75 maverick about a month ago, its in pretty good condition for having sat about 15 years. It has drum brakes all the way around, I broke a brake line right after i got it running, replaced it and in the process found a couple more leaks, fixed them then noticed my front left wasn't working, so i replaced the wheel cylinders in both of my fronts, that took care of that problem. But now the brakes work alright, but if i hold the peddle it goes slowly to the floor and seems to be getting worse. At first i thought it was another leak but my fluid level stays up, I've bled the brake like three time and adjusted them and it still feels as though I'm getting air in the lines. I'm getting pretty annoyed with constantly pumping my peddle when i stop haha... but I'm lost on what to to next any pointers would be appreciated a lot. Thanks----Jess

I was getting that problem a couple weeks ago. Mine seems to do it every time there is a severe climate change, but I know the master cylinder isn't working so hot. I plan to replace it with disc's up front and power brakes via el Geo swap.

My 72 does the same thing. I have been driving it to work everyday and I hate the long stoplights.
I will press the brake. It will slowly go to the floor and the car will roll forward, so I let the pedal up and it is nice and tight again, then it goes down slowly. Pain in the butt, but not deadly. lol
