lower dash tray to glove box conversion

I am considering converting one of my cars to a glove box instead of package tray. What is involved other than obtaining a glove box one? Are all the '74-'77 lower dashes the same?

1976-1977 does not have a provision for the parking brake handle.....as the fuse box is located in that area. You want one from 1973 thru 1975.

 

if you need any of the stuff i have it from my '76. i converted from a glove box to a tray.

 

I would be willing to trade the stuff with you. I would like to have the tray instead of the box. Depending on how good a shape your stuff is in.

Mine is a 74 in near-mint condition.

 

FYI ... the upper dash with the tray is different than the upper dash with a glove box ... There will be a gap on each side since the early dash curves and the later dash goes straight down on each end.

 

Gloves is about all that fits in the maverick box,lol.

Thirty-five years ago JC Whitney used to sell a door to mount on a Maverick's tray to make it a long, skinny, glove box. Looked kinda goofy.
