Anyone know where I can get them little crush nuts that the side mirrors screw into the doors with, Although tho hole is significantly oversized now. I suppose some kind of butterfly nut would work too.

I got mine from Ace Hardware, but that was a dozen years ago. You have a couple of installation tool options on them. There is a specialized riveter if you are going to do a lot of them (probably $30-50), or there is what I bought, which is just a bolt and collar that you turn with a hand wrench (about $10).

I bought stainless steel machine screws for the mirror.Still look great after all this time.

Thanks guys, I am wondering if they will still work. The hole is uh, well, bigger now. Fully crushed, it will just barely catch, think its worth it or should I try something else?

If they are that bad ... just MIG weld the hole shut and redrill it ...

mig the hole shut? braize it??? that will really do a number on the paint won't it? let's not be animals here guys. just get a new rivnut set and put one in. if the hole is too big,use an oversize rivnut, they are out there. use the right tool for the job and it will be fixed perfectly.

I don't like the Rivnuts. I installed mine like Dan did on his yellow 74 he used to have.
