hmm yeah forgot about the headers part, all i have are headers for a mustang fox body. And yes i know about the **** kit. But dont know where to take it too. It pains me knowing i just rebuilt that thing less then 2 years ago and now i gotta take it apart again. I should of put in the shift kit when i did the rebuild, but i figured o its an i6, dont need one, my bad lol Well at least i have really low milage on it.

THe rebuild was less then 2 years ago but i have less then 15k miles on it. so not bad seeing how its my daily driver.

Now for the motor, i have frame/motor mounts from a 71 mav that had a 302 in it. those should just bolt on the 302 and be cool with my car right??

dont worry, putting in a shift kit isnt a big deal like a full rebuild. it'll just make it perform a little better.

i doubt the fox headers will work but im sure you could sell them for a few $'s towards the maverick.

it sounds like you have the right motor and frame mounts so thats good. v8 cars also had a slightly diffrent trans crossmember that made it easier to run dual exhaust but you can make due with out it. i also think v8 mavs had a better fitting throttl cable

hmmm maybe i should hunt down a mav that already has a 302 in it so i can have something to refer too.

i read somewhere that the mavs after 75 were built v8 friendly. They had compaitable tranimssions and 8 inch rear end and stuff but all they lacked was the v8's.

But i was thinking headers rather then regular exhaust manifolds but i might get stuck with the latter due to i know nothin about exhaust and where to get the parts.

Also found out the "complete motor" im gettin doesnt come with a carb, and i was told i might want to replace the intake but dont know to what.

I have so much reading and comparing to do.

I just want a mild 302 for daily driving and a lil racing on the weekends :D:162:

74's and up i blieve came with front disc brakes and 5 lig rims all around. your '75 should alrady have both those. i think buyin another mav would be a little much. its not that complicated, you already have pretty much verything you need.

you can just order the headers online and put them in with the engine. then drive down to the local muffler shop and get some pipes bent up. no one make a bolt on exhaust for mavericks. but some of us lik open headers so its not always necssary :)
