Ok i have had this problem since i put the car together 2 years ago. When i powershift the car at full throttle the clutch pedal sticks down, and when the rpm's come down it pops back up.If i let off the gas between shifts it's ok and if i powershift it at like 4000 rpm it's ok too, just at WOT the pedal sticks down. Anybody have any ideas? I don't know how many more times this little smallblock can take the 7000+ RPM misshifts Thanks, Derek.
It's got a cable with a T-5 trans and a lakewood scattershield. And both motor mounts are new, engine doesn't shake around at all.
Does it have a diaphram preasure plate or "long"style" 3 finger? Some of the diaphram clutches will "hang" at high RPM.
Also i don't have offset style dowels on the scattershield.Could poor bellhousing alignment cause this?
I can't imagine the shield being the problem, but I agree with the overcentering of the diaphram. That's why Centerforce added the weights on the fingers, to bring it back and apply more pressure at the upper RPM area. I use a long style McLeod dual disk myself, but I'm not using a cable setup.
I had a 4spd that did that. It ended up being the input shaft was twisted if you looked down the splines you could see it. But you should cover the basics degree the bell. check for anything hangin up in the cable
Its been mentioned before that this is a problem with T-5's and the diaphragm style clutch. I think I even heard Joe on Horsepower TV mention it during one of their T-5 conversions.
Thanks guys, for a while i though i was loosing it! I think a Centerforce is in my near future. "It ended up being the input shaft was twisted" I'm thinking that this isn't the problem because this is the second tranny that it's happening too.But it will be something i check when i do the clutch swap.
