The only one I've ever heard anything about is http://www.carchex.com/inspect/inde...ction&GCID=C15917x001&keyword=auto inspection Might be worth talking to them. I think they offer several different inspection options. If not you might try a local mechanic that you trust.
might send a PM to rayzorsharp on this board. his company has people that do inspections in other parts of the country.
That would be correct. And I'll tell you right now, the process we go through when we do these inspections will usually even show the owners about problems they didn't know existed before. I have done quite a few pre-purchase inspections for this company. The majority the people never buy the car at the advertised price...or they have enough info to get themselves a considerable discount. Most of the time it is well worth the cost of the inspection when you consider the selling price of some of these cars. I have saved my pre-purchase clients hundreds of thousands of investment dollars in my four years of working with this company. Give them a call and tell them I sent ya if you want. 800-848-2886. They should have an agent fairly close to the area. I wish you best of luck with your (hopefully) new purchase.
Oh, no problem at all. The Carchex probably does a good inspection too. I really don't know anything about them. I would say the biggest difference is that we actually do an appraisal on the vehicle so you know what it is really valued at. It's more than just an inspection. However, our inspection is very detailed. It usually takes me 2 1/2 to 3 hours just for the inspection as I have a nine-page report to fill out on the car. Then I still have to upload all of my photos and fax my report to headquarters. They will then evaluate my report along with the 40 or so photos I send and compare this to other comparable vehicles that have sold within the last year or so. They then determine the value of the car based off of all this combined information.
Awesome! I'm going to have to buy a car from you one day. I'll know for sure that I'm getting a fair deal. BTW did the Grabber go to a good home?
I've still got it. I'm getting ready to convert it to a 302 and possibly do a repaint. Got a neat idea for a repaint. Of course the price is going to go up...if I still keep it for sale.
