i am going to replace the hoses on my power steering setup, and i am getting alot of conflicting information on what i need

does anyone know the ford part numbers for a 1970 with a 250 6 cyl

or at least like a good description - i have heard from one place there are 3 pressure hoses i need, and another place said i need a pressure hose, some other hose, a filter, and a return line.

my chiltons manual wasnt much help

so any info would be awesome, also i know i use a pulley puller to get the pully off the pump, how do i put it back on though?

Just to let you know that Auto Crafters sells the hoses you require. It sounds like you have the old hoses and if you do, :idea:you can have a hydralic house make new 1s as per your samples, or you can match them up to maybe mustang67-71, or maybe granada hoses as the spindles and steering parts could be interchangable. hope this helps you out. Should be 3 hoses. Two pressure hoses: One from the control valve, one from the pump....they connect together. Then....a return hose.

You can "rent" a tool from Advance Auto to put the pulley back on. Or.....Just take the pump and pulley into the store and use the tool there.

Heres is what the pulley press looks like...

Most auto stores have them to buy and some will rent them.
Some ps pumps will have a setup in the box, that will work, when you buy a pump. Look in the box and see if it has a long bolt and a nut with a washer...

i got my hoses from NAPA. like the other post said,2 pressure hoses and a return hose. you don't need the filter,it is tight enough in there already.my return hose is high pressure fuel line,so you only need to buy 2 hoses and a piece of fuel line. ---george
