as most of you know, i recently aquired a '73 Grabber form Tim Keck here on the board (thanks again Tim). my brother and i took saturday to go get it and visit with Tim a little bit. we also traded some parts around, talked a bunch and just enjoyed the day in TN.

when we returned home, we stopped by the local car wash to rinse some of the moss and such off of the car. keep in mind the car has been sitting for 18 years on Tim's property. despite sitting for such a long time, the frame, torque boxes and over 80% of the body are rust free. the only rust in a couple of small patches in the quarters and a small area in each front floorboard.

i plan to rebuild this car. i was 15 when i got my '73 4door and have wanted a '73 Grabber to match my 4door ever since. well, it took 8 yrs but here it is. my plans are a mild 351W and an auto tranny for the time being. one funny thing about this car is that it spent most of it's life in TN but have a Louisville, Ky. DSO... that just goes to show that she's back home :yup:

here's a vin breakdown and some pics...
    VIN: 3K93F178258
    Body:62D - Maverick 2-door Sport Sedan Grabber
    Color:6E - Medium Bright Yellow
Trim:HF - Medium Ginger - All Vinyl Bench
    Trans:W - C4 Automatic
    Axle:3 - 2.79:1
    DSO:28 - Louisville, Ky.

here's my album of the car so far, just as i brought it home...

Thanks everyone, for the support. my '71 was wrecked and alot worse than this so i feel really confident about this build. i plan to have most of the metal work done and have a rolling chassis by Christmas. that's my plans anyways. ill keep my album updated and let you all know as progress progresses :)

Wow ... that car looks pretty nice for sitting in a yard for 18 years. I was at Tim's place a couple of years back ... pretty amazing all the cars he just has laying around.

i thought the same thing when i seen it... but i also remembered that i have a 351W that needs a home and since one is already cut ill just cut the other. im gonna straighten and weld it up then do the same to the other side. this will make my Windsor swap alot easier for changing plugs and such (y)
