thanks for the help

Thanks to all of your help i have taken my Maverick from the 16's to mid twelves in one race season. i look forward to next race season and wish luck to all.

kevin, guess that means you should be in the 8's next year. good deal. glad to see it's all working out for you. i see keil seipel from infineon just won the ultimate bracket race at vegas over thanksgiving. it paid $45K.

 

we switched out the stock 302 engine with a 289 from a pro stock pinto put some alluminum heads on it a big cam edelbrock torquer intake 3500 stall converter and i have started to shed some weight (still in progress). the bumpers from 73 way a ton. We are having some traction issues, but that is running on street tires and without cal tracs....... i got the cal tracs, slicks, and a demon carbeurator to put on before next season starts back up.

if i keep up on this pace i will but i still got to make sure i remain above twelve because i need to be able to race high school class one more year and then ill most likely move to sportsman for awhile......and then maybe ill start worrying about appearance lol.

can you run slicks in hs. thought it had to be dot tires. p.s. skip sportsman and go straight to pro. there's too many of you young guys moving in to sportsman and picking on us old guys. J/K

 

yes last year i was told we could on the summit events and they let us in vegas so you are able to....lol i have had thoughts of going to pro but i figured id wait at least a few years after sportsman...sorry

What suspenson work do you have done to it?

 

all i got right now is traction bars....but i have the cal tracs now to put on and that should solve my traction issue with ease.... i also got some drag slicks but i need the longer studs on the wheels for them to be legal for nhra

 

i also have a 9 inch sitting in my side yard with 456 gears but i dont think im going to go that route for a few years

 

i think if it's in redding the car count will be way down. my guess is vegas again, or bakersfield. vegas will get 800+ cars again. but bakersfield is probably a lot cheaper for redding to rent if they still want to be the host track. they'll still get about 600 cars there.

 

i have a feeling it will be in bakersfield vegas is just a lil far for us and others way out here.....but then again its vegas
