Interestingly enough (well, to me anyway), I had a '72 Hurst Olds and was asked just the other day by my brother how I would want my red Maverick painted while I was away. I told him, "just like my old Olds". I know it doesn't make sense to a lot of you but I think I would like to have my Maverick painted with the H/O scheme (similar to the stripes shown for the Maverick). Pearl White w/ reflector gold stripes. I know I'll never get my old '72 Hurst Olds back again, so this is the next best thing. At least I'll pay homage to it.
i still don't think i'd like it. maybe because the maverick is shorter. but hey, i was wrong once before.
how about bringing it up over the tail or spoiler simular to the old mopar rumble bee stripe?? And the front(hood stripe) I think is supposed to resemble the maverick emblem
Here's one that does go up and over the tail. We talked about it almost 4 years ago! (damn, has it been that long?? ): http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=2880&highlight=stripe+kit
I have that kit, ( the one that goes over the top of the trunk) I forgot all about it, was going to see if I could have it copyed at the local sign shop, all my Mav's have the Grabber hoods, so the steer head won't work for me,Maybe I'll check with that sign shop anyone interested?
If I was going to do this, I would bring the bottom strip up to the middle of the body and connect it to the top front strip so it would be a true C stripe. THen go over the trunk. IT would be one continuous stripe from one side to another. I would run it below the body line.
C stripe would look good. The more I look at it the more I like it. I have always been partial to blacked out hoods too.
IMHO, this is the best one: The others look too chevy/mopar. The C stripe alone would look like a crapmaro wannabe. And the bumble bee rear stripe looks too busy.
Makes the Mav look pretty good ... I'm going with the factory graphics tho, in silver reflective. Hogans heroes...
I like these paintjobs. The bottom one especially. This one would look way better with Cragars of course.
