I don't sell parts on the side any longer, it became too grueling, and annoying. My love hasn't faultered any though, I've been steadily fixing up my 86 gt convertible...I just finished my black interior conversion, and autometer gauge install, and it's smoking hot with a 97 gt40p explorer engine and full bolt ons....a couple of months ago my bro picked up an 01 bullit, and still has his 86gt ttop car which he's been slowly fixing up. My latest toy is an 86 coupe 5.0....it was an ex highway patrol car, which makes it highly coveted and rare...she's a keeper!!

To be truthefull, the reason I don't post here is because I essentially haven't driven the mav in 15 years or so, and it's almost out of my reality..even with this resto, I may see it once a month. Once the car comes along further, you'll see me become a post whore again just like the old days

actually, I'm developing a new love...I got sick of driving nothing but old cars, so I went out and bought an 03 quad cab hemi ram, ca express model. fully loaded, leather, black on black, 345 horse 5.7L hemi...only 26k miles on the clock. I had a flowmaster exhaust on it by the second week. Love this truck!
I thought about that, however I've got my mustangs for track toys. This thing will get a rebuilt 5.0 roller motor with gt40 heads and a fat carb (efi to come later). In a sub 3000 pound car, this thing will hit 12's with almost no work.

I want my track toys and fast cars to be the 80's mustangs....if I ever crashed the maverick, I couldn't live with myself, so I have no plans on installing a bigger motor into the mav.

I'm drooling wish I could do that with Comet, I have no Idea how much I would spend having something like that done. the comet is in a bit better shape than your was but pretty close to that regarding rust.

for this level of restoration starting with a body that I had, and if you want the good paint, expect to pay 15-20k, and that's if you do the mechanical work yourself. stuff adds up quickly

I'm doing EVERYTHING!! I dropped it off complete, but he's letting me do all the work there, and using his lift.

I've stripped all mechanicals myself, and interior while the car was at the shop. He's been super cool for letting me work there.

I'll be assembling and installing 100% of all mechanicals myself (hopefully with a friend or my brother or father)...engine assembly, trans clean up and assembly, suspension, etc etc

Wow , I think I woudl find the way to take time to do all htat knowing I had the cash to get something as nice as this started. I hesitate taking mine apart until I have cash to work with ( at least to do things in phases) last hting I want is to have torn apart then take forever gettgin stuff done and have it un driveable. I wish I knew what kind of welding class to take to do patch panels and learn how to do that stuff myself I jsut don't have a clue wht kind of welding or body classes to take
