I would guess if you drive your car in the summer time in traffic, you would want the high flow set. I really dont know how much difference it makes so It might not really make much difference.
I have a junkyard supplied serpentine setup on my 5.0. I will take a pic tomorrow of the front and post it up. Everything I am running is from the junkyard and cost less than $50 altogether. That includes a later model power steering pump and bracket. I only have one belt, and it runs from crank (of course!) to ps pump, 3g 130 amp alternator, water pump.
Took a few more pics. With the engine in the car, it is hard to get pics of the pulley setup, but from this combination of pics you should get a good idea. The pulleys all came from a mid-80's crown vic with a 5.0. I think the PS pump and bracket also came from one of those. You will need that alternator bracket too, again from the same car, I believe. All this was done about 4 years ago, and the water pump was new then, it has about 2 miles on it! The water pump, IIRC I bought for a 1990 Crown Vic (Charlie Ping knows for sure, and maybe others do too). It is the only aluminium pump, that spins in the correct direction for this setup. If you are using Power Steering, then this is good. If not then I guess it might be useless to you. This is because my alternator bracket bolts through the ps pump bracket. As far as the fitting on the hose for the pump, you can remove the fitting from the old pump and swap it with the new one, and keep your old style hose. THis setup is also very good for alternator access as you can see.
I did a serpentine belt conversion as well. Incredibly easy: I got my crank pulley off my brother's mustang (which works if you have a four-bolt harmonic balancer). If you have a three-bolt, you're probably stuck with the incredibly overpriced march pullies. Water pump pulley came off a mid-eighties Grand Marquis (or crown vic, ltd, etc.)...you can use a smooth pulley if necessary, but i chose this one because it was grooved. The alternator pulley can come off of almost any car, but you might need to use a spacer to make it work right.
I got and installed the March kit. They look really sharp. They use a 6 rib belt where as my other set up could only use a 5 rib due to the alt pully. A 5 rib was the widest I could find. The water pump and crank pullies were 6 rib. One thing about my conversion is I had to have a spacer machined to set the crank pully out. I dont know if it is because the 50 oz balancers set out further or not. Every crank pully I found did not stick out far enough. But the March set up bolted right on (still needed my spacer) and everything lined up.
Very Sharp Dennis...geez they look good...what size belt did you end up using. UPS couldn't find my house today so I have to go down to their terminal Friday and get mine, buncha ijuts...I asked em WTH did I pay second day air?? Frank check the Summit website and do a search on March pulleys...they have every conceivable combination of pulley kits you could want
