I have a chance to buy a '90 Mustang 5.0 thats crashed with a complete engine to swap into my '75 250 Maverick for $300
I'm trying to budget about how much the swap is gonna run me if I use everything I can off the Mustang, including the tranny.

    Thanks

You can use the motor/trans,but since you already have a 250 you could get away with just the motor. You'll need an old style front sump oilpan, mav specific headers or some 302 manifolds(fox body headers won't fit)as well as the v8 mav stuff. You could probably get most,if not all of your money back from the 8.8 rear and whatever other items are good on the car.

is it an automatic or stick? what are you going with? 5.0 is about all you can use in the swap unless you want to change trannies too. like tim said, for $300. you can be pretty sure of getting your money back. :)

Where are you in so cal.
I allready dunn did it. I used an 88 must.

My question to you is how much ard you going to due your self.
    ? carb or efi.
    ? auto or 5 spd.
    ? aod or c4 trans.
    ? floor or column shifter

The convertions is not hard to due just takes time .
    Parts needed are .
    motor frame mounts
    exhaust manifolds or headers
trans. mount for AOD or 5 spd

My convertion cost about 3000 to 3500 dollars I did some things not needed just so I didn't need to due them later .

If you have any ? pm me for my phone #

The Stang is a stick, and I would like to use the T5.
My Mav is an Automatic Column shift, and I would like to keep the 5.0 an EFI.
I live up in Palmdale/Lancaster in the Antelope Valley.
Yeah, I'm not very mechanically inclined, and I don't have much time so I might have to have an actual mechanic do most of the work when the time comes.
