Can any FI system off 5.0 trucks and cars be stuck on a 74 mav?? Using a blower so trying to find cost effective way for fuel delivery. Have thought of blow thru with four barrel manifold and hat or go EFI with megasquirt. Can't decide! always on a budget. Couple of wrecking yards around lots of old EFI
Oh, sorry... Yeah, several guys have used EFI on theirs. I have seen the Edelbrock system and the 5.0 EFI installed successfully.
i have a complete 5.0 efi setup with computer and all sensors except the o2 i'll sale for 100. i have pictures... just pm me.
The blower I am using is a Paxton Sn 89, capable of 7 psi with stock pulley can bump up to ten pounds with samll pulley.
The best way to solve for overall application is to first convert to factory style EFI with mass air for centrifigal use. The blower bolts up and blows thru the air meter. If you were to go speed density, the Kenne Bell blower would work very nice and make so much torque that no rear tires would hold traction unless you went 10" or wider slicks on these light cars. I have done centrifigals on 93 Mustang and currently run a KB on speed density. Put megasquirt on a Factory Five Cobra. My Comet is mass air EFI but not blown. Remember you are back yard re-engineering all this and it has to be right on or there is greif as a result. There's a lot to know about the whole deal. Megasquirt; is batch fire injection for port injection or two very large TB injectors. Adding a blower to this and the programming it takes is a huge undertaking to get all issues solved. Truck FI is speed density, batch fire in the 80s and up into the mid to late 90s. The big headache is using a centrifigal on speed density and getting the MAP sensor under correct control. Ford Map sensor does not work under any boost pressures. With a KB, there is a boost controller that block pressure to the MAP making it easy to use that type supercharging. Plan carefully and learn about all the issues before leaping.
