The left quarter is going on my Comet GT and the right quarter has already been cut off. As far as the scoops, I picked them up at Carlisle about 5 years ago for $50. They ought to be worth 10 times that now. . Seriously, they are not going on any of my cars so if someone is interested in them, PM me.
I always felt that Pontiacs in general had too many little doodads just tacked on; scoops, spoilers, wings, body molding, etc. To me Pontiacs look like someone with a J.C. Whitney catalog decided to customize their Chevy.
Or they could be put in the front floorboards to allow leaky cowls a way to drain water, and on hot days,, open em up and what a refresher! Dan
I dont care for it on the fender or in the quarter panel. It doesnt compliment the lines of the car. Its more of a vent than a scoop. Vent belongs on the fender. A lot of cars that have the scoops in the back also have complimentary body lines that extend forward.
Those Mach 1 scoops are just bad ass!!! I have a trunk lid and scoops that I got out of one many years ago in hopes of converting a friends 69 convertible to a Mach 1 convertible because Ford never did. They really screwed up the rear of the 69 convertible. It never happened so I tried to see if they would work on a Maverick. Not even close. Funny thing was, an episode of Overhaul a few weeks back did that exact thing. I think Foose owes me some royalities for the idea. I'd settle for letting him do one of my cars.
