Hello Everyone! I'm new here on the Mav forum and really glad I found it. Thought I'd share a little story with you. Came home yesterday from work to find out my mom almost sold my Mav out from under me! My poor old Mav is sitting out in the front yard looking neglected, but its nice to know that she's still got it if ppl are pulling over and knocking on the door wanting to buy her! :bananaman I'm told the only thing that saved my Mav from being sold away was my kid brother coming home and firmly talking my mom out of it. Wheew....close one!
Wow, great story! The person just stopping by after seeing a Mav accuratly describes about 85% of the people on this board - wouldn't it be crazy if it was someone on here?! Now you always have to be nice to your little brother - or at least for a little while ... -Corbin
The cars are definately getting more popular, no doubt. Give your bro our congrats on saving your prize.
Don't be fooled my friends my brother Bob has ulterior motives....he wants the Mav for himself!! But dont worry after the close call the other day I left no doubt in everyone's mind that the Mav is MINE! It would have been a kick if someone from the forum had been the one to stop by huh? I guess I'll never know...lol. Poor guy will just have to get his own Mav though now wont he....
Very cool, I think little brothers always have alterior motives. Glad you didnt lose your Mav. I know I would had thrown a rod if my mom sold my Mav. 74Maverick, Thom
Here's one from the "little brother's" perspective. I always liked riding in my brother Mav.(when ever he would let me "tag along") He drove his Mav all through collage, then took it to Texas when he got married. After about 15 years he had to move to Sweden. He called me and asked me if I wanted his car. All I had to do was to fly to Texas and help him pack up his things and put them in storage. Then, he and I drove the Mav and a Mustang from Texas to Pittsburgh. Thats how a came about my 74. Thanks Bro. Russ
very cool story russ.. playing with these older cars wouldn't be half as fun if it weren't for my older brother. get us in a garage together and some really creative things happen..
get the badboy put in your name, and your name only, then no one can legally sell it without your signature.
That's my worst fear my mother selling one of my babies! She's been known to sell peoples cars without warning. Sold my dad's fully restored 57' Chevy when he was away for like $500. I would have a fit if I came home and my Comet was gone. As for the Mav's I could probably part with them for the right amount. A kid just tried to buy my new 77' from my dad for $700. My dad told him $2000 cash and he could have it, didn't even ask me if that was ok lol. But hey I could get a nice Comet with that much money.
I need a car, whats your moms phone number, I like her prices, especially the one for the 57 Chevy He he he Glen
