1974 Maverick I bought for $500 8 years ago when I was 16. Since then I have invested $30,000 into it.
I looked through the tech pages and didnt see this one. Does anyone know if I can get brand new leafs from anyone? If I can, who, how to reach them, what types I should look into? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx 74Maverick, Thom

There is a new set listed on ebay right now. Not sure what the price is. There are companies that sell them, but I dont know off hand who they were.

I ordered and installed new 4 leafs , bushings and shackles from ESPO, Springs & Things. Type it into Yahoo and you will find it. Whole deal was around $250.00 and everything is new. It wil raise the ride height somewhat though. Scott

Cool! Thanx guys, Ill give these a try. How much did it lift the rear, and how difficult to do? I can do a good bit, but it sounds like a job for my dad the master mechanic:

It was actualy pretty simple. Get the bushings pressed in from where ever you buy the springs. I was macho man and decided I could do it myself(don't!) Total time working on it was about 2 hours. The rear lifted about 1 1/2" for me. My old springs were sagging badly so I would expect an inch or so.. It already has settled some with only 50 miles on it. What a difference in the ride though! Scott, very cool! You must be up around I'd say Bloomfield. My Union meetings are held at 1976 hall in Asbury Park. That's about exit 100 on parkway. Takes me bout an hour to get to there coming from AC working at the Trop. Now that Im temporarily laid off Id be coming from G-boro. That takes bout an hour and a 1/2. Your not too far. Yes definitely interested in joining MCCI.(y) I will try to e-mail you too. Thanx, Thom

My car is the exact same way. I also have the four leaf shocks from espo. It raised mine about 2 inches.

Todd, since it sounds like you did it recently how much did it run you for everything? Did you notice a big difference when you did it? Thom
