Take I-40 to Russsellville and then exit on scenic 7 route and stay on it south towards Hot Springs, turn right on 154 at Centerville. Specators are $10 I believe (that's usually what it is anyway). you gaw-gia boys are welcomed, but don't tell the lady at the front gate where you're from.

Shoot fire Terry, come on down. The owner's are the niceset people you will meet and the track is almost like going to the legendary "George Ray's" in northern Arkansas. If they let a crabby old guy like me in there, you know anybody can enter. Only thing they don't let in is mean dogs like pitt's and dobbies, etc. Oh crap, I wonder about Georgia Bulldogs.:rofl2::Welcome:

Ya'll didn't miss much. Rolled in the gate at about 8:45, stood around until about 1 pm when we ran first round of time trials. Slid around like driving on snow. Ran 2nd round, was better and the sun was peeking through the clouds, thought that might help the condition of the racing surface. Well, it looked pretty good....first round of elims came around--one car sheared off it's wheel studs, lost wheel, spun around...had to clean that mess up. Got it cleaned off after a 30 minute delay, ran 2 more cars, next pair a nice running (and nice looking) '64 Nova, big block/Lenco, spewed its guts about 100' feet out. By the time the track was cleaned of oil/antifreeze/poo, I was next in line....against a early 80's Camaro. We dialed close (his 7.18 to my 6.92), we leave, I spun about 25 feet, kicked it into 2nd gear, got sideways...other car was on the center line, I was headed right for him--also sideways-so I blipped, got 'er straightened out, kicked into high gear, sideways again....blipped, lifted, straightened up, hammered down again, yet again went sideways and crossed the finish line about 2 lengths behind the camaro for the loss. I was fed up with trying to race on "ice" (the track temp was cold, and the humidity was condensing on the track) so I parked the junk-stang and called it a day. I'm not sure, but I do believe that they cancelled the remainder of the race day due to dangerous track conditions. We didn't stick around, just loaded up & left.

    Andy, you didn't miss anything.

Yep, as a spectator, I could see this was never gonna be a good day. Temp was fairly warm but the wind and clouds would not let the high humidity from saturating the surface. Blowers, dryers and track sweepers were almost useless today. These Jan. race day's are just not a good deal anymore, around here. I would not consider taking my Fairmont, because I have had similiar situations in previous years, and destroyed two fresh engines because of pushing them to hard on a slick surface.
Was still fun to get out of the cabin and meet old friends and see some new cars. I think there was over 100 No/e cars and who knows how many of the other classes and MC's. Now we can start on the Maverick's engine and have it ready for Feb. TNT.

Also youngest son is arriving Monday from Iraq, and will be preparing for 30 day leave. AND, his upcoming wedding on the 26th. Lot's to do in a short time.
