IMO the outside shape of the Torino tails turns different than our rear fender end, and it makes for an uneven look.
If you look at a Torino, the turn of the lights matches the shape of the fender corner.
Just looks way too out of sync for me.

As a side note, I have seen a Mav with the Torino lights mounted up-side-down!
    That was really ugly...

The 71-73 Stang tail light swap is really growing on me.
They match the contours of the rear end much better, and they mount almost flush, rather than sticking out off the panel surface.

You can always tell 'em it's the last surviving Shelby Maverick!

I always get asked if mine is a Crapmaro, ooops I mean Camaro. Especially since I borrowed Mavaholic's idea of the Impala tail lights.

[IMG]now if you reverse these so the pointy end is out they would look good on a mav? but it might be going a bit "to far"

I did an issue of Short Horns that had a whole bunch of different tail lights in the centerfold.

I have the tail lights to do this just don't know how I want to mod the tail light panel to get them to look right.

    Aren't those the 65 T-bird lights?
    Those are sweet...
They don't have the stock grille over them like the Birds, or Shelbys.
I don't see any need for modding the shape of the rear panel for those.
They seem to follow the lines very nicely.

    Edit:
Here is a set with the stock grilles in place...
This pic is from this site, so it is likely a member.
Rayzorsharp has a set of these on his blue car.
He went all out with the Shelby rear panel too.
    Looks awesome.

If anyone is interested, I have a nice set of the Torino tail lights like the ones shown above I will sell. I bought them a while back but decided on the Shelby look instead. I would let the set go for $50 plus shipping. Will be on eBay soon if no one is interested.

Yes they are 65 tbird lights with 65 tbird bezels. The lenses and bezels are taller than the raised area of the maverick tail panel, so the light hangs over the edge of the raised area.
