    Well, maybe not back in 71. I found this while I was dismantling the quarter panel that I cut out of my parts car.

    I guess that makes than an NOS bolt. Might be worth a fortune on Ebay. :D

    Its amazing what you'll find when pulling these cars apart. I found a tan sunvisor clip holder that someone had dropped under the carpet and it was just like NOS!

    A friend of mine found a whole handful of those self tapping screws under the rear seat of his 72 Maverick.

    a 1972 restored green maverick with a v-8 and grabber hood.
    i worked at ford in the mid to late 90's and i found a really odd looking hammer in the trunk of a crown vic once. it was up over the wheel well and down by the rear seat. it made so much noise the car didn't even get off the truck and we heard it. i wish i had a pic of it,it was bent really weird,but was perfectly balanced. i gave it to my father years ago.

    i found an extra duplicate vin plate that feel into the dash and was just replaced with a restamped one with the same #

    found an extra door panel maverick 'steerhead' medallion for a deluxe door panel under the carpet of a '75 i parted out. just like NOS, and i still gots it :D

    that bolt is holding the glue down. it worked didnt it?

    thnk what might have happened if that bolt was not there.. that glue could have failed, caused the car to lose control, go off the road and kill a goat herder.

    you are lucky. i wouldnt take the bolt out, could be bad voodoo
