Hi erveryone, It´s too cold outside so I´m sitting inside with a fever :cold:and nothing to do, so I´m trying to rebulid (clean up, strip off rust, prime, paint, put on decals) a couple of aircleaners, and I´m starting to wonder what kind of air cleaners that was/is actually used on the maverick/comet, what kind of differences it is between the 200cui 250cui and the 302cui aircleaners, I´m not really sure on the ones I got here, but they are not looking the same, well just asking anyway, take care everyone!!!!:thumbs2:

i would think all the straight 6's would have the same aircleaner since they all had 1bbl carbs. the 302 aircleaner will have a bigger hole for the carb since they were 2bbl

Additionaly, The base of the I6 has a pocket formed in it that alows the air cleaner to sit down over the top of the carb. This is due to small clearance between the hood and the carb, which sits high on the cast-on intake manifold or log.

Yeah I thought so too, but I got one from (what I´m told)a 250 and one from a 200 (both mav/com) and there is some slight differences in both shape and accesories:hmmm:, it really doesn´t matter I´m just curious, were they ever in any other color than Ford blue???

and did they change over the years in any way???

    Thanks!

    Robert.

Also; as the epa plumbing was added (not sure what year) there will be a slight differance in apperance, but not shape.
