For the past several weeks, the message board has been
    very slow for me.

I have a pretty good computer, fast Road Runner access.
All other sites...move quickly. This one....it takes 30-60
    seconds to switch between threads?

    Stefan? Anyone?

Me too. It has been an ongoing problem for me for over a year, I just keep hitting the refresh button and eventually it will pop up. Sometimes I accidentally post the same thing twice, though...

It is slow for me when I am viewing from my netscape browser, so I started viewing from Internet Explorer and it is plenty fast.

I use firefox also. It has always been slow and very often just says "Done" and gives me a beautiful empty screen...

I wonder if it is my pop-up blocker. NExt time it is really slow, I may disable it. I use an odd blocker that has been working great for me for MANY years, but is off-brand. It takes a little setting up to make it work, but once it is set up correctly, I get ZERO popups. Easy to disable...make a good experiment.

At what time of the day are the slow downs? Can you let me know when you find it slow and tell me how many users are online? Scroll down to the bottom of the board to find this info.

Stefan. I haven't really ever found any rhyme or reason, or time or season, for the slow downs. It just happens most of the time for me.

I still think it might have something to do with my firewall/popup blocker, etc.

same with me. It just happens when it wants to. Generally when I'm in a rush for the need of some info. Sorta frustrating, but when I consider all I have gotten from this site, I just calm down and wait....... And try not to throw a wrench thru the monitor....Again!!

I'm on Firefox with Bell South DSL. I had problems with it slowing down too, until I became a supporting member. Every time it would hang up, it would say "Waiting for pagead2.googlesyndication.com" down at the bottom. Soon as I became a supporting member, the ad's went away and the site is very fast. Literally the instant I click a link it pops up with no delay. Though I see scoop is a supporting member, so that must not be the problem for him.
