Have been reading post on this forum for a while and decided to jump in and join. I am looking at a 77 mav with a strait six but haven't bought it yet. If I do it will get a 460 that is seting outside waiting to be used. I do have an '81 Mustang that is get the motor now but would rather get something from the mid 70's. Anyway I hope I can add to some of the dicusions in here and am sure I will pick-up some info to help myself.:tiphat:

    Welcome aboard! :Handshake
We have a few bigblock Mavs on here. Just be prepared to do some extensive shock tower work. :)

    :Welcome:

Yea, that 460 definitely isn't going to just drop right in. You'll have to do a Mustang II front end.

    welcome

a 390 wont fit either lol. a a 350c or 351w seem to be the biggest blocks people are getting in with no shock tower work, but its tight to say the least

your 81 stang sounds like it might be a good donar engine. i think they were still usng carbs then?

Don't listen to these guys...just make that 460 fit in there...:thumbs2:

It won't be easy, but it wouldn't be fun if it was easy!

Welcome to the board, and pics are ALWAYS appreciated...:D

A 460... I love a guy who thinks big. If one of the guys on this board were to ever do one, please document the heck out of the build.
