The "big six" is taller and longer than the "small six" motors, so the amount of work to stuff it in to a Maverick is not worth it, IMHO. It can be done as I have seen it, but usually only for drag race applications.
The wieght dif is significant as well. While I am a Six fan, and get a little tired of hearing 302 as the solution to every preformance upgrade, I would not go the 300 route, it would take a lot of work to get it stuffed in there. Lou
I think I'm going to find out once and for all just how well a "big block" 6 fits next time I go to NC..
well i wanst planning on doing it. one of my co-workers told me that one of his friends was selling a 300I6 tranny and all for $500. i just wanted some feedback on the subject
$500 sounds a little high to me. And the amount of work needed should add too much to the cost. Some may be unhappy to hear about the v-8, but it is the cheapest and easiest route to go.
Well, when you have a few sitting around to play with, and a bunch of other cars, not much you can't do.
