Another Maverick in the news. From the pages of New York Daily News, 2.6.08

I know its not right to block the highway to race cars that are trailered in... Still hate seeing that happen to anyones ride. The youtube video is no longer available.

Could have been worse. If they get caught in Calif. street racing, the cops take your ride and it goes to that special place called the "Crusher"!! They have cracked down hard on street racing there. Plus, we live in different times now and I don't approve of street racing at all. Pay a few bucks, go to the track, keep your ride.

OH S%#T, I'm pretty sure the owner of that Maverick is the same guy who just bought, and hasn't pickup up yet, my 76!!!!! The youtube video vs. the Mopar is the one he sent me so I could see his current Mav. I'll probably be getting a call asking for the money back...just perfect!!!

I have it saved on my favorites at home. I'll post it at lunch.

I'm really concerned...I gave the guy the title and bill of sale for my car. He was supposed to be setting up transport to get it back to NY. I don't want to get stuck with the Mav and no title....I should charge him storage:idea:

Sure, but I'd expect someone having $25K to 35K in a motor to be their age...because it's more likely they'd have that kind of scratch; besides, "young kids" won't necessarily be interested in that vintage of car.

You would think that if something like this would be pass by word of mouth. Using the net, your asking for trouble. They still streetrace here. Not alot but they still do it & people come from other states & counties to do it here. I know 1st hand since one of the spots is in the precints I work at. It want stop, my dad said they did it in the same location 30 years ago.

Sorry, but I just GOTTA say, they ASKED for it. There is a place for racing, and it is NOT a public street where an unsuspecting pedestrian could get killed or someone's pet could get squashed.
    It's just NOT OK! :tsk:
Street racing is illegal for a reason. :rulez:

    Oh, well.....you play, you pay!!!

Thanks for listening. :2cents: Excuse me while I go put my SOAP BOX away!

I bet ya a dollar those guys know, or will find out, who shot the video. I too think it was a stupid move for him to post time and place on the internet.
