I have done some searching through your site(simply because i did not want to repeat a post) and i was curious if anyone knew or a header that would work in a 72 mav w/ a 351w swap without cutting the shock towers. any ideas? I didn't want to have them custom made because that can cost around 2k plus but if i have to i will

this guy has a 351W with headers and stock shock towers. might want to drop him a PM http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=40298
You are getting 2 different issues confused. You cut the towers so you can work on the engine without pulling your hair out. NOT to fit headers. The only part of the tower you can shave is above the headers, so shaving does nothing for header clearance... other than to get your hands to the bolts a little easier.
Tubular Automotive makes headers for a 351w swap. I have a set of headers for a 351w that was in my mav but there seems to be no name on them.
Crites has a set that are supposed to work. Someone here on the forum bought a set. www.critesrestoration.com Problem with some of them are the small tubes
I would use the Crites myself... For the Windsor swap anyway. I used the Tubulars before, and liked them fine for a Cleveland. However they are very small tubes on the Windsor variety. 1.5" tubes. The Crites are decent at 1.75" tubes. AND as a bonus, they fit either 351 or 302. If you go W... I suggest Crites. If you decide on a C, then I like Tubular.
i didnt put them on but i know they came from Summit from way back when ill ask the guy and try and find out
Hedmans have tiny primary pipes. Just a heads up. Some folks wouldn't want to run them on anything but a very mild engine. Same with Tubulars. Crites and Hooker are the only ones with decent primary pipes. For big tubes, you gotta run a Cleveland!
