1976 Comet...need help decoding

    I don't have 1976 service manuals, and haven't been able to find a list of these codes as a reference.

    I just purchased this Comet and need to decode the warranty/data plate codes as follows:

    62B:
    9DGT:
    LU:
    W: C4
    3: Open
    52:

    :thumbs2:Only one thing didn't directly decode...9DGT for color

    The way I read that is that it's Polar White (9D), tan vinyl roof (T), but what is the "G"??? Does that designate the 3/4 vinyl roof vs. the 100% vinyl roof??

    In any case it decodes as a pretty standard Comet:

    2dr; V8; Los Angeles DSO; 302; C4; 2.79:1 open; tan corinthian vinyl low back buckets (LDO).

    Thanks again, I've added your link to my favorites...great source of data for our cars.

    Now, let the work begin!!:dance:

    is heard!!!

    It is smaller! I sold a 68 Cougar, 71 Cougar, 67 Ranchero, 73 Ranchero and have only added this 76 Comet. So there!!!!

    Haha, I was just checking up on you!

    Good to hear you are doing well in the selling cars department. I have been by a couple times, usually when I'm in the area.. which is usually at times when you are not there.

    I might have to stop by sometime and see what you are up to.

    You don't happen to need a 302 and a C4 for any reason do you? I want to get rid of them...
