someone had posted about these last night in my ford's club forum. i never heard of it and decided it was probably worth some research.
it just seemed a little gimmicky to me.

Jamie posted that a while back (at least I think it was jamie). I was having blowby on the old engine and he showed me this.

LMAO, I remember lot years ago, I made something like that for a friend of mine 85 corolla. The car had a so bad backpressure problem, that oil got collected on the air cleaner assy. I made a pair of holes on a mayonnaise glass jar's lid, and place it in between the pvc and the air cleaner. He drove the car for several months with the "oil trap", and even recycled the oil back to the engine every couple days of use. LOL

We had a boat, that the blow by was so bad on, we had to do something like that to, or it would get so bad the engine would stall. If it were a car it would have never made it on the street. Maybe if you had low friction rings or something, you might have a problem on the street, but if they were fouling plugs you would think thats excessive.

so im being told that forced induction OHC engines normally have excessive blow by to the point where they need this?

That is a true statement. I have installed several oil seperators on OHC blown/Turboed cars.

The oil thins out quite a bit more and the rings expand/contract in a different manner.
