i brought my maverick into auto class today. it was the first time this teacher got to take a good look at it. hes pretty old school. he been around long enough to remeber working on these cars when they were still sitting on used car lots anyway he walks up to me and says "dont say anythng, lemme guess." "judging by the small bumpers, hood scoop and spoiler, is it a '71-72 maverick Grabber ?" ...nope, 1976 6 cylinder, but close enough hen he started to try to argue with me about the bumpers "only the pre-73 cars had those" true, but I swapped them out i think he started to get a little annoyed that i was proving him wrong on stuff infront of the whole class, but it didnt end there then he asks what engine is in it i said a straight six he replies "ohh a 300 then?" no, mavericks didnt have those. its a 250 the next few questions he did get right tho. he knew it would have had disc brakes and he knew there was a 8'' and C4 sitting under it but i could tell at that point he was pretty annoyed that i had out mavericked him infront of everybody still pretty cool that im able to fool people with the small bumpers and other pieces ve added
that was my thought as well kudo's to him for having some knowledge....but I bet it was still fun to mess with him
the head instructor down there asked me about my pinto one time lol the teacher i was messing with today is actually building an a/c cobra replica so im sure he's up on his ford tech
IMHO it sounds to me like he knows his stuff and you need to apologize for yanking his chain. You did not "prove him wrong" on anything you swapped onto the car.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm! putting down the teach in front of class is not a great idea, kinda like POing the mail lady!
Correcting the teacher is a fine idea. Hmmmmmm...... I guess we should let them teach all the children incorrectly...... Wait a minute they do that in California
