Broken lifter, but timing chain is good....help, help, help!!!

    Rocker breaks, puts bind on cam, cam gear stops for a second, timing chain doesn't, due to slack in chain it jumps teeth on gear.

    1970 maverick 5.0 t 5 trans 59 ford rear with 4.11 cogs
    say it's an exhaust valve rocker......cylinder will still get fuel but it's got no where to go because exhaust isn,t opening....if it does not hydraulic lock...guess it would have to go back up where it came from....

    well thanx u guys. u just answered my problem. i got the same thing here. now i understand what happened. guess ill check the dizzy gear tomarow and get a new chain just to b on the safe side.. thanx agian. jeff

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    buy a double roller T-chain set.Dont cost much more than a standard one.Or at least get steel gears with the new one you do buy.The nylon geared ones are a waste of money.
