Ok well thanks everyone for trying to help me fix my 77' mav, but long story short she's gone. Busted rocker arm and lost 3 cylinders, she's toast.

So i need your guys help once again, i am looking for a new 302 v8 5.0 long block to throw in my 77' mav, i want her running again and i am willing to pump like $2000 into a new motor (long block)

Where can i find one for a good deal, i live in northern california, so emissions are key (Damn!!!):hmmm:

Sounds like you need to swap that 77 for a 70 - 73... aren't they exempt out thereif they are older than 74?? keep your eyes on the parts for sale section there have been a few nice engines selling in there lately I just don't remember if they were out on your coast or not. Your other option is certainly to go to the local pull a part and find a decent running engine

Heck, If you just want to get it running again. Buy a long block from Pep boys or checker. They run about $8-900 I think. Check them out and its warrantied.

I would actually visit your local Ford Dealership or Reputable Auto Mechanic.
I am ordering my motor direct through Ford as it is a Replacement long block for a 1993 Mustang Cobra. Full Roller (Camshaft, Rockers...) GT40 Aluminum heads....

Note: Forgot to mention the price was somewhere around $1800 and it is fully warranteed.(I wouldn't exactly trust the PepBoys ones... get what you pay for...)
