build the perfect car with parts from the wrecked car.. its the easiest thing to do, and cheapest.

the damaged car has a salvaged title... it would be hard to sell it in the future, if you wanted to..

and since the good car is stripped already, it would be easier to do a more complete job, ie.. paint all the interior, engine bay, etc.. so the end product would look better in the end

Or you could finish the tube axle Comet in that other photo. :thumbs2:

I posted another reply, but re-reading your first post, I am a bit confused. The stripped Comet in the pic looks a little more complete than your description. You are now saying that car isn't a roller any more?

You mentioned missing shock towers and plans for a 351. That is a good combo. Think Mustang II front end, because a 351 and the stock upper A-arms are in direct confict. Headers for that are terrible. If you want to run a stock suspension, think 347 stroker and maybe a T5. It will fit better.

So using the doors, interior, glass, and fenders from the 74 to build the 71 gets my vote. Swap in bucket seats.

All in all, I hope you are ready for a lot of work. About as much as will go into my green car below soon.

i'd build off of which ever shell is in better condition as far as rot and accident damage.

unlike in GA thats not the case in every state.

you could claim a lost title and use a bill of sale to get a clean replacment even tho thats probably illegal i think that works here

build the comet, using the mav as a donor to get it up and on the road then build your engine/tranny combo to suite you then swap it out. this will minimize ur downtime and expense IMO :) good luck... and let's see some pictures :D

Our state is one of the few exceptions to the rule. Many states do require a title for cars this old.

It usually takes several old cars to make one complete one, especially if it a project.

    Let the Madness begin!

Do you also have a Cougar?

every state i have lived in requires a title. and it takes about 3 months in some instances to get a replacement title
