Same header. Just that the other ones are ceramic coated. I have the coated ones in my car. But for the street i'd go with the uncoated myself. I'd question the fit for a 351w in a maverick though.:)

yea im gathering up what i need for a mild 302 swap. headers are a must tho :)

the chrome and shineyness, ehh not so much lol, atleast at that price

i figured they were the same but only listing 71-74's had me a little scared since i have a '76

i was just gonna get the cheapo summit headers but i figure for $60 more and everyone saying these are the best i should splurge for 'em. i rean a few searches and some of the summit header stories scared me :(

I tried the Summit headers first. I sent them back. Couldn't get them to fit. Sprayed some new black paint on them and shipped them back.:)

haha yea i read some of your previous posts about them.

so i should be good to go right?

its funny how the bare finish headers only list 71-74 mavericks but the chrome ones have 2 pages worth of cars they fit on

its all marketing. this way people decide to spend on the nice shiny, more expensive headers if they have serious doubt and no way to confirm they fit

yea i figured it was something like that

    i just had a thought.

maybe they only list the headers up to the 74 model year since ford switched to cats in '75 and most of these headers wouldnt be street legal on emission controlled cars? sound reasonable :) ?

If you have an Autozone handy, they sell the same ones for $161 and you only pay tax and no shipping. Mine came in the next day. You should also check out their Awards Program. Every $20 purchase gets you a credit. after 5 credits you get a $20 coupon. I've gotten $120 back so far .

This question was asked about a year ago...

I posted then that I assumed that they only list to 74 because in mid-75 cats were installed... They are apparently covering their butts for emissions laws.

Headers are technically illegal at the federal level on any cat vehicle.

All this is funny though, because they cover thier butts in this one case, but there are listings for another 100+ (at the very least) that are not legal.
