    Hey Folks,
New to the site, but seems very helpful. Was wondering if anyone has info on the dash cover from Auto Krafters. It seems like it is made of plastic. I wondered if anyone had seen one installed or not. I am having problems finding a good factory dash pad. Any info would be appreciated, or if you know of a good factory one, or have one for sale that would be better. Color really does not matter I can dye it, but need a black one. This is about my fifth Maverick and I love them. I think it is an addiction. Any help on the pad would be tremendous. Thanks!!!

    welcome abord

i dont have any personal expierence with their dash pad but from what i understand its basically a cap that fits over your old cracked one. im sure its an easier and cheaper alternative then finding a good original one and pulling the dash apart

I have an excellent dashpad for sale and also a recovered original. Both are black. I can also recover yours if it is not too far gone.

    :Welcome:

Dash pads can be hard to find.

My first Comet (the white one below) was only a 10 year old car when I got it. The dash had 6 huge splits in it.

With my green one, I got very lucky and got a perfect pad out of a low mileage wreck, and that was a dozen years ago. They don't survive well at all here in the South.

A few folks here have reported that the dash cap is very good. Installs easy and looks very much like an original pad.

    Dash Cap

I got a cap from J. C. Whitney , don't recall the Mfg. but you can't tell it didn't come from the factory with the cap on.

All of the dash caps out on the market came from the same company...even the ones from JC Whitney. Like stated above, they just snap on over the old cover and if you didn't know, you wouldn't know it wasn't the original dash pad. It is black in color and comes textured just like the real dash. They can be dyed if needed. We got together as a group a while back and bought about 75 + or - of them. Got them for around $40 a piece getting that many. I still have about 3 of them left I but I have plans for them already. They are eBay all the time too. I think the going price is usually about $70 or so on eBay.
They really do work great though!
