Listen to Scoop. If you want shorter sidewal you should go with taller rims

Ray, don't you have a different rearend under your car as well? I just put 15x8 Weld Prostars 4 1/2" backspace on mine, with 275/60 BFG Radial TA (wish I would have gone with a drag radial) The tires where touching the leaf spring so I put a 1/4" spacer.

Yes, I do have a 9" with 4:30 gears. This rear end was in the body when I bought it 5 years ago. The guy I bought it from just told me he had it built to fit that car. I don't know the exact measurements to compare to a stock Mav rear. I am getting another 9" rear in about 3 weeks with 3:73 gears and a spool. I may change out the entire rear just so I can kinda freshen this one up and I think I'd like the 3:73 gears too. It was just pulled out of a Maverick by another board member so I'm hoping I don't have any rubbing issues. I will tell you too that my tires are probably about 3/8ths of an inch from the springs. I do have lots of well lip clearance now though.

Here's a shot of the new wheels. You can see on the back tire how much fender clearance I have.
