ok i was reading in here and the way i understood is that with my 5 speed swap i can use a ford racing aluminum driveshaft right nout of a fox body mustang with a specail u-joint. is this true? if so does anyone know any parts numbers for these u-joints and do i have to have it lenghtened or shortend or will it bolt right in?

from what i know, it bolts in. as for the u-joint, all i know is that it's a 'bastard' (bastard u-joint, meaning one end is different than the other). ill find out myself when i actually get to do mine

I used a fox body drive shaft on mine but i have a C4. I think you can use the same shaft as I have read about others doing it on here and didn't need the shaft modified. The Napa part number for the u-joint is 539 i believe. You can do a search under my name and my post will come up with all the info on it from when I did it a couple weeks ago.

They are called conversion u-joints. Any good parts person can break out the book and get you what you need.

Tell me about it. Being a former parts person myself I get frustrated dealing with some of the counter people.

I seem to be shopping more at www.rockauto.com :bouncy:
