well...i was wondering if anybody has done this....also will the pullies and brackets (from a 87 to 93 mustang GT) bolt up to the 302?

on another note...where can i find a repair harness...and a new motorcraft voltage regulator?

Yeah I just recently did this swap, It was pretty straight forward. You have to take all the brackets from the donor car, then you'll have everything you need. You will also need the water pump from the mustang. I deleted the power steering in my setup and need a 72.5" belt to make it all work.

    Dennis,
did you have to use the mustang waterpump?
    i put '84 C.V. setup on my '72 302...bolt on.
had to take it off...wouldn't work on my new 5.0 w/A/C.

On an 87-93, you also have to swap the timing covers. The coolant ports are reversed as well as the pump rotation. At some point in between 79 and 87, Ford revised the timing covers on the reverse rotation setups with regards to the coolant port layout. The pumps will bolt up, but the gaskets and flanges don't align.

I used a aftermarket water pump specifically for the Maverick.

Thats how I did mine.... The alternator takes up the slack so you dont need a tensioner... do need a standard rotation waterpump (grooves instead of smooth) though... got one from a 90 crown vic with a 5.0 Mine looks just the same. Alternatively, i'm only running an alt and water pump from the bottom end.
