OK, so a little over a year ago I started my V8 and 4 to 5 lug swaps. Finally got back to it last weekend, got the engine back in and hooked up. Now I'm doing the exhaust, and while under there I discovered that I need to hook up the e-brake. After gathering all the parts for the system, I think I find that the cables coming out of the backing plates might be to long. I thought I compared them to the old ones before I got rid of the old rear. So can anyone give me some insight on this and also the proper routing of the other cables, Please???? Thanks
Also current car is 72 2dr mav 5 lug rear came from 73 4dr comet
    thanks again, Rob

Do a search on the subject. I know I have posted pictures / drawings on how the cables are routed.

When I swapped my '71 4 lug for a later 5 lugger, I had to use the old cables to get them to work with the car. They were very different.

I noticed this pic on a car for sale on Ebay. Shows the routing of the early (1970 shown) e brake cables.

i would think the 4 DR. would be longer than the 2 Dr.:yup:
maybe the 4 Dr. has 2 long and the 2 Dr. has 1 long and 1 short...

A 4-door uses the same cables as a 2-door. An intermediate cable is used on the 4-door to make up the difference. This intermediate cable is about 10" long.

Thanks everyone :thumbs2: I can now see what was missing. I didnt have the 2nd elongated "c" bracket on the passenger side of the car. Ill get this hooked up, along with the exhaust, radiator and tune up parts this weekend and should be driving after 2 yrs :drive:. Again, thanks everyone, Rob.
