What is the proper 14 Rim to run on my 73" Maverick. Do you want use a 6inch or 7 inch wide rim? Looking at Cragars. for no clearance problems.

I'm running 14x7 on the front and 14x8 on the rear. No clearance problems on the 7" and I probably wouldn't have a clearance issue on the rear if I hadn't run such a wide tire. If I had gone with a 245/60R14 I doubt it would rub at all. They're currently 265/50R14 and BFG discontinued the size.

Oh, you've opened yourself up to a heap load of answers :)
Some people have used 8" wide rear wheels on the back with 7" on the front without any problems, but it's all in the back spacing, try doing a search and see what you come up with. I have 14" ss's on my 73 with 235/60 tires, never had any problem, but I have no idea on the back spacing, I could measure it if you want.

Yes I guess the back spacing is also important. Rim I am looking at says it has 3.375 in. backspacing.

I have to go do a service call, I'll measure mine when I get back.

I have Granada discs and running a 14x7 Magnum put them awfully close to the calipers. A rough weld on the wheel rubbed one. I switched to some 14x6s I had and the extra 1/2 inch clearance fixed it.

15x7s Magnums I have on the front now clear with no issues. The extra diameter moved it away from the caliper.

I forgot about that! I had to file down the top of the caliper on one wheel, but only maybe 1/32" - 1/16"

    14x6 14 x 7

With the tire choices, you can make it look good and perform good with what we know will work with 7's and 6's. I've got american racing slotted dishes 7's and 6's on my 73 and and a ...50 and ...60 tire with 1/2" clearance on the back without having to crimp the fender well.
