I was just trying to rebuild the stock 2bbl on my 74 302. I found a hole in the fuel bowl from the accelerator pump. One of the screws was over tightened and blew out a little bit. Now I have a 2bbl off a 77 400. Does anyone around here think that there would be any problems if I just slapped that one on there so that I can go to work on monday  ???

Probably just have to lean out the idle mixture screws a half a turn, but you should be just fine. Some of the two barrels that came on the 351M and 400 have slightly bigger throat diameters and are jetted a little richer, so you miight even pick up a little extra seat in the pants feel.

    Thanks

Well I measured the barrel openings and they are the same size. Now I just need to get a rebuild kit for the 77 carb and take care of that. I just hope I can scrounge up the money by sunday so that I can go to work on Monday.

Keep in mind that the carb for the 77 was designed to run with a converter and an egr system, so you might get some funky performance issues. I wouldn't recommend it long term/

Also, as emissions equipment piled in, carbs were NOT jetted richer.
