send him a PM, maybe he can talk you through it ...got an update on that ...$200 fishing car you bought ......
We just did this to an extra column I have here at the house. You cannot push the pin in without the switch in the "on" position. Take a drill and drill down the center of the ignition switch. You should see little pieces of the tumblers come out along with the little springs that are in there. Then with a screwdriver you should be able to turn the switch to the "on" position and push the button to release the ignition switch and pull it out. If I remember correctly there are 5 tumblers. We used a 5/16 drill bit to do the job. You can feel as the drill goes trough each of the tumblers. - Matt
ok ihwe got it wiped. o and yeah the 200 car turned into me talkgin him down to 100... hee heee and i took all the 5 lug. the rear end. and the steering wheel and gave it to the junk yard . it was a turd. one of the guys in this forum got the mirrors and the antenna and some other stuff off of it i think. i could see through the floor boards
Jame takes about twice as long as it took me to turn the parts car ignition so we could unload it from the trailer. My quickest time on a Ford is about ten seconds. Other cars are easier.
the reason.. i replaced the door locks when i drove the car home from kentucky because someone tried to break into the car and screwed up the lock on the passenger door.. i had to buy a dual lock kit, and it came with keys, so i installed that.. the doors, and ignition are the same, and the trunk is different. hope that clears it up for you.. if you need to know anything else on my "old" maverick, just ask me..
maverick it is not on you old maverick. but i did notice that they have been changed. im trying to get a lock out of a mustang 2.. i dont loose my keys. i keep them together....
What I do is just go to my trusty ring of Ford keys. I have the keys from all of the cars I have junked over the years "50+ keys". With 5 tunblers there are only so many combinations that can be made. I just try them and jiggle them untill I find one that works. I can get into about 80% of "old" Fords with them. And here lately I have been adding to the collection, so that is what works for me.
