How much does a garage like that cost?

    It's not just a Garage...

It's an adventure! Seriously, I sold my house to build this thing. I am sitting on over 100K worth of 5 acre building lots, and the bills are getting tough to make. By the end of this summer I will hopefully have the ground floor of my apartment finished, but the second floor will have to wait until I sell some land.

    Getting closer

Got the roof done this past weekend, the garage doors will be installed this week and so will the siding. As you can see from the roof it will be a true blue garage..... Could have the ford oval painted on the roof:D

with all the copper theft around here I havent done any wiring yet, just put the panel and meter on yesterday, and placing the boxes. when I can close the doors and lock them, then I will start the wiring. be doing all that myself, to save money. wired 3 homes so far with family members and haven't failed yet.

    Nice work.

What are the dimensions on that?

I don't think I can build that big where I am.
They allow 1/2 the square footage of the residence.
We have a little over 2400 sqft, so 1200 is what I can build.

Any chance that your building is 1200 sqft?
If so, I think I will be happy!

Mine is 68 x 30 = 2040qf .....the garage is 48 feet and the game room is 20 feet.

Yeah, I think that is where I am going.
My pool deck is roughly 46-48 ft long, and the garage is going against that, so those measurements will work.

I'll stop hijacking the thread now!

Nice job, keep the pics coming.
I especially would like to see these "scissor trusses" and the eventual install of the lift.

Guess I should have continued with this thread
    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=45230

Has more pictures. If you look on post #4 you can see the "tray trusses".
They cover 22 feet of the left bay, from the left wall to the right bay.

the siding is going on this week, and the garage doors too. so by this weekend I should be wiring it up and hopefully by the end of this month I will have sheetrock up on the ceiling and walls.

Well, It isnt done yet...been going slow. 2 months ago my Girlfriends 80 year old father decided to drill a hole in a gas tank(using a cordless drill) of a subaru to drain it before taking it to be crushed....well needless to say he lived about 80 days with 4-degree burns on 40% of his lower body. we laid him to rest with full military honor guard yesterday.

I have been working on getting the garage wired and ready for the first electrical inspection. I went to a local automotive supply house that sells lifts and got to look at their generic 2-post lift (DP10A for $3300) and a rotary (SPO-A10 for $3650) this is delivered and installed. I can get a bend-pak XPR-10AC for $2550 from metro lifts delivered to a freight point
here in knoxville but then I have to pick it up and install it.

Anyone with thoughts.....I am leaning toward the rotary, since the company here in knoxville is an authorized dealer.
